Mindfulness in Honolulu
Weekly Group Sessions
We practice Buddhist insight meditation- AKA mindfulness meditation: simple, effective, down to earth. Come join us for weekly guided sessions and talks. Always free.
We began meeting weekly for meditation and discussion in back in 1998 and, like many other groups, we took a break during the pandemic… and re-started in January, 2023.
We meet Thursdays, 6:00 to 7:30 PM at our home in Pālolo Valley.
Our next meeting is -> Thursday, April 18, 2024.
We start our meetings with a short period of standing and/or qigong meditation, followed by a 30 minute guided sitting session. We then enjoy a short break, followed by a talk with time for questions or discussion.
This would be an ideal introduction to meditation
for people who you may wish to introduce to this simple-yet-profound contemplative practice.
Due to parking and space limitations, we are now requiring folks to follow new guidelines, listed below.
New guidelines regarding group participation
Address and Parking
Our address is 2439 Holomua Place, #A, in upper Palolo Valley, adjacent to the Palolo Chinese Home.
It would be ideal if you could park on 10th Avenue and walk six to eight minutes to our home. If walking is a problem please contact us through the contact form on this site so we can arrange special parking for you.
Cushions and chairs
- We have a limited supply of meditation cushions. There will be some chairs available, plus two long benches and a couch.
Consideration for our landlord/ neighbor
- As you enter and leave our place, please be mindful that the owner lives very close by in the next house, so kindly keep conversations in a low tone.
